Today

Today has been full and it's only 1:42 right now. This morning we had Kindergarten Round up for Sam. He and Ed rode their bikes to the school. It was so very strange going into an actual school and dropping Sam off at his little class and then meeting with the principle and a bunch of parents for an hour and a half. It still seems so far off until Sam gets on that huge bus (they went on a bus ride today and he looked so small in that big bus!), but I know this summer will fly by. He didn't want to go into his class today. He stood right outside the door. My heart went out to him because he doesn't like new situations and gets very quiet, but once he's comfortable, he has no problem. And this was the case, of which we were very relieved about. So I sat in the meeting while Ed took Alina around the school to keep her occupied. Ed and Sam went on the bus (and Alina was very upset about this as SHE wanted to get on the bus too!). Then we headed to Dog Town for a special lunch.

The kids are actually in bed right now, which is a huge relief. Ed went on a long bike ride to get out in God's creation to be quiet and pray. Life is getting very interesting right now and some major/life changing decisions are going to probably need to be made in the next couple of weeks that could change the course of our lives. Hence why Ed needed to get away and pray. I felt the other day that God was going to take us on an adventure in our family, and anticipated a fun one. I don't think this one will be a fun trip, but an adventure none the less, that will grow me, us and our family in trusting God.

I know that is going to be much easier said than done.

On a lighter note, I made this delicious dessert last Friday. I got it off of Mark's blog. It's a trifle and OH SO GOOD! AND super easy. It's all gone now. Sorry to disappoint anyone who was dropping all their work to come over and try some. :)

the dessert looks incredible! I must admit that even though it didn't even cross my mind to come over and eat some, there was still a sense of disappointment that it was gone!

And so exciting for Sam to be preparing for school! I could just picture him standing outside the door to that classroom, so tentative...it pulled at my heart too, and I wasn't even there! :)

:) I'll just have to make it for another Canadian holiday meal or party or something soon so you can try some :)

He was so sweet and it was hard walking away from him. Sigh...

Or you can both come...You girls wanna go on a road trip!?

Ok...not a very fun one. But I left my jacket at the cottage and need to drive back down on Saturday. Beth? Jean? I just don't wanna drive down alone...

Andy will be busy in the studio all day. Or he should be... :)

mmmm.... trifle! So yummy. AND it has chocolate. I've never seen a trifle with chocolate!

Hmm... mystery adventures! Learning to trust GOd more is always a good thing. I hope in your case it means a fun thing, too.

Wow, sending your kidlet off to school for the first time! How exciting! Who's gonig to cry more, him or you? :)

Sad day...I have to work (muttering "stupid work" under breath). Otherwise I'd totally be up for a road trip.

I must admit that the desert looks great the way you prepared it ... chefMark is very impressed! Hillary there are many ways to change the recipe ... you can use sponge cake ... or angel food cake or in my case brownies.

It is sad how fast they grow. My Sophie, who I swear we just brought home from the hospital, is reading to her Dad all the time ... and it makes me very sad to see it happen so fast. I predict that Mom will cry more!

Ah man...nuts. Can I still come over and visit sometime?

Hey Jean, are you up for it?

Hi Hillary :) That dessert was much tastier than it looks. I think I'll try angel food cake with vanilla pudding, strawberries and cool whip. I think Mark is right. I will cry more. The hardest part is going to be putting him on that bus. I hope there will be something fun in the adventure. Sure will be interesting though.

Can you call in sick Beth? :) just kidding...maybe it'll be a rainy day...
