the intruder

So last night we were sitting downstairs watching LOST. Ed fell asleep. I was all worked up and mind was a-workin' away after the episode was done, so I started flipping through the channels to see what was on that could calm my brain down. I found a REALLY old episode of Friends, so snuggled down deeper in the blanket to watch. Halfway through, I was getting sleepy and was ready to head for bed. I then saw something. Something moving out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head and there was a mouse happily walking along the top of the bookshelf. I about fell over, scared me half to death. It scampered back behind the duct in the ceiling and I could hear it back there scratching away. Grrrrr.....It's probably back there making babies that will invade our house. I was wide awake then and it took me a good 45 minutes to get sleepy enough to go back to bed. I do not like mice. Especially mice in my house. I threw two mouse traps away last year b/c I couldn't handle emptying them of the dead mice. My dad even killed one with a board. I thought our mouse issue was settled after killing at least 4 last year, but I guess not. Watch out mouse. That peanut butter is deadly and I WILL get you!!

There were mice in the house that I grew up in as well. It was yucky. My bedroom was in the basement and once the plastic light cover (the ones you use with drop ceilings) broke. Before my dad could replace it, a mouse fell through the opening and died when it hit the floor. I walked into the room to find a dead mouse in the middle of the floor. It was really gross.

I also used to lie in bed, awake, listening to the mice have track and field day (I swear it was always running long jump), scampering around on the tiles of the ceiling. I do not miss those nights!

ok beth. I can hardly complain about a mouse being in our house when they were falling out of the ceiling at your old one!!!

You just need a cat. That would solve the problem for good! :)

Hey Beth! How's your cat?

I did immediately think of your kitties and maybe they could help my "problem"...

Nothing worse than having mice in one's home. When I had mice in my home, I remember being scared to death to go the bathroom in the middle of the night. I'd get up on my bed and climb from chair to chair to reach the light switch and flick it on. Then I'd wait a while to scare 'em little rodents away before I carefully stepped out to go to the bathroom, heart beating like mad.

Yuk. Rodents anywhere are not fun. We've just had a rat problem at my house. I think they're gone now. Of course, I thought that when the one trap was cleared, only to find another rat rotting in the back of my storage room a few months later. EWWWW! My landlords are paying for an exterminator, you'd think they'd come check the traps every now and then. I didn't even know hte trap was there till I noticed a funky smell. EWWW!

Uh, ok, so that was gross, sorry... hey, look at all those pretty spring flowers!

Good luck with the mouse hunt! Go git 'im! :D
