2009 has started out quietly.
We had a quiet New Years Eve and enjoyed a visit from Ed's mom.
Ed and I started exercising again.
And eating better.
We both have goals we want to meet.
This past week I started counting calories and writing down what we eat (after we polished off the Top Pot Doughnuts only to find out our absolute favorite doughnut grants us 600 calories! No more Top Pot. For awhile.). It's amazing how effective writing down what you eat does. I eat less. Snack on unhealthy munchies less and am more aware of what I am putting in my body. I can eat so many more healthy things compared to very few unhealthy things (portion wise). I'm all about eating more! I've found a lot of Eating Well recipes that all four of us will enjoy. Now I just need to find Tahini! I miss Meijer! Ed has been the master at eating healthy, staying on an exercise schedule and losing weight. I'm so proud of him!
We're also starting a bible study together Monday at church going through the book Boundries. I'm geeked about this and to do this together is so awesome!
So we're starting out 2009 healthier.
For our minds.
Our bodies.
And our spirits.

I'm jealous of your bible study. I need to start writing down my food again. It really does help. I also track my water sometimes too. Good for you guys!

Jean - your 2008 was a crazy, crazy year. My heart was so warmed reading your last post. And for this one - huzzah! Praying for a wonderful year for you and Ed and your kidlets! Sounds like you're off to a fabulous start! :) Hugs to you my friend! :)

It's been a very, very long time since we've done something like this together and we both could benefit greatly from the book we'll be doing. And we get to start to meet people! :) I do need to start drinking more water as I've slacked off doing that and it only helps drinking more! :)

Thanks Hillary! Hugs back to you. I miss you! :)

I second what they both said... :) And I've been SO bad at water! Can you even believe it? Less than half of what I should be drinking. Bad bad.

I've read "Boundaries" and Dan and I did Boundaries in Marriage together our first or 2nd year of marriage. Both are excellent. I hope you will learn a lot from it. Of course I'm reading this after eating out and a slice of b-day cake! Time for a glass of water...
