from here

today was the day of no turning back.
the point of no return.

today we sealed our decision with 4 one-way tickets to Seattle.

no, the house hasn't sold.
no, we don't know where we're going to live or work.
we don't know a lot.

but one thing we do know. after more prayer than we even thought possible, seeking His word, and more prayer, we're taking a risk God has planted in our hearts to do and we're doing it. we can't disobey. this is truly a step of faith.

a step that's happening in 3 1/2 weeks. August 16th, we're getting on a plane at 3:00 pm to fly to the other side of the country without a return flight planned.

until christmas.

If you're flying, how do you get all your stuff out there?

Yeah! I'm glad you're out of the waiting phase now.

I'm with Jenna - what about your stuff? :)

I'm supposed to be really happy for you and proud of you for "taking the leap". But honestly? I read your post and just got really sad.

Let us know what you need - we want to take care of you guys!

AAAAAH!!! Jean! That is so insane! I'm sad you're leaving all your friends, but so excited for this new adventure and for your step of faith, step of obedience!

(And SO excited you'll be so much closer to ME! Totally selfish, I know, but there it is!)

Thanks Kristi! It hasn't completely sunk in yet and I'm sure there will be many more tears coupled with excitement too. :)

Stuff is being moved by a semi which will leave the same day we do, but get there 5-6 days after we do.

Thanks for being honest Chris. :) It really was a hard decision and is still going to be hard the next 3 weeks. I refuse to say goodbye. More like see you soon. :)

HA! Thanks Hills! With as hard as it's going to be leaving here, knowing we'll know some people there makes it a smidge easier. :)

Wow, Jean. I'll be praying for your family. This is such a BIG EXCITING GOD-FILLED DECISION and He is going to bless it - in some way, even if you're stressed and tired, it's gonna happen!!!!!!!

Any chance God might be telling you not to go with your house not selling? This seems quite risky.

Jean said...

You're right Brian, it's risky. It's actually crazy risky! But we're sure it's the right risk, the one we are supposed to take. :)

Jean, this morning my devotions were about Abraham and how God told him to pack up everything and go to an unknown place. He had no idea where he was going or what he was going to do when he got there, but he obeyed and look what God did as a result. And now I read your blog and can't help but see the parallel. You will be missed but I know God will bless you for your obedience!

I wondered the same thing too DD. Where in the world did the past 10 months go? :)

Thank you so much Amy. What a great reminder and piece of encouragement. Thank you.

We are soooo happy for you guys. Let us know if we can do anything to help out in this whole process. We can help out in any way. Even if you needed a place to stay for a little while, just let us know.

Yay...so glad you are coming this fall!!
