On Moonberry Lake by Holly Varni

This is the first book I've read by Holly Varni and what a sweet book it was! The whole book took on the pace of the little town it was set in. Holly did a great job transforming an eclectic community in to a family. The story moved along like the waves lapping the shore in a steady rhythm that kept the reader engaged. With bits of humor and a touch of romance, the reader is taken on a journey of what family can look like when someone with deep hurt lets people in. I look forward to reading the 2nd book by Vanri!

Review of He Should Have Told The Bees by Amanda Cox

Amanda did yet another fantastic job creating a story which flows smoothly and tells a sweet narrative following two young women from opposite upbringings. Not a fast paced moving novel but a story to read curled up in a chair that just brings comfort and contentment while turning the pages. Even woven with sorrow, this novel has just the right amount of humor, and a splash of tension that keeps the reader moving along to the end. If you are looking for a book to read while relaxing, this one would be a great choice!

Review of The All American by Susie Finkbeiner

This is one of those books that you just can't put down. Not mysterious. Not suspenseful. Solid. Real. Emotional. A book that is worth reading until the very last page. Soaking in each chapter. Walking alongside two sisters and how life in their family affects each of them. Finkbeiner hits it out of the park again with a gripping story where you feel all the feels. If you think it's only about women's baseball, think again. It's about so much more than that.

Review of With Every Memory by Janine Rosche

Author Janine Rosche has delicately written a story about her main character, Lori Mendenhall, who was in a car accident that tragically killed her son and stole eight years from her memory. In this novel, Rosche has masterfully crafted a story that draws the reader in as though they are a part of it. The characters, the plot, the delicacy of sensitive subjects are all intricately woven together with careful tenderness. The reader feels as though they are walking alongside of Lori as she slowly regains her memory amidst loss. This novel is one you won't want to put down until the very last page is turned.

Review of Blind Trust by Natalie Walters

This is the third book in the SNAP Agency Series by Natalie Walters. A well written, fast paced book that wraps up the series so well! Walters writes with expertise and fluidity that grabs the readers attention right away and keeps it engaged throughout the book. With well developed main characters and support characters, Walters did a great job creating a smooth story line from beginning to end. Well crafted and thought through. Reading the first two books will help set the stage best if read before this book, but it can still be read as a stand alone. Review of Windswept Way by Irene Hannon

This is the next book in the Hope Harbor Series by Irene Hannon. Ashley Scott is out of a job and uses her inheritance to buy Hope Harbor's haunted house. This story is about her journey of putting her dreams into action, befriending the home's occupant and helping other come out of their shells. Hannon spins another great story to add to the depth of characters that define Hope Harbor. With a light-heartedness, this is a delightful read that any Hope Harbor enthusiast will love.

Review of Second Time Around by Melody Carlson

Melody Carlson brings the reader on a sweet journey of the life of Mallory Farrell. This is the perfect book to read on a rainy day or sitting at the beach. Not too deep, not too intense, not too full of floof. It's just right. A cozy read that brings the participant on a journey of self discovery of who Mallory Farrell is, what she's after, how life can change even after the nest is empty and how love can bloom again. Carlson does a great job delving in to the story and characters right away and it doesn't take long to get in to the plot. With a side-kick lilt and a dose of down to earth writing, sit back and enjoy a feel-good read that you'll, well, feel good about after reading!

Review of Maid of Ballymacool by Jennifer Deibel

 

This is the first book that I have read by Jennifer Deibel and what a great read it was! Such a tender, heart wrenching story where there is forgiveness and restoration along the way. Deibel did a great job creating the characters and storyline which kept a steady pace to keep the reader interested throughout the entire book. The word that comes to mind is sturdy for this story. It was solid and sturdy. Light romance but a solid foundation was created from the beginning which was not diverted from but built upon. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Review of Cold Light of Day by Elizabeth Goddard

In this super fast paced story, you have police chief Autumn Long - doing everything possible to keep her job while her town is falling apart with unsolved crimes - and Grier Brenner who is trying to stay under the radar and out of the spot light so crime doesn't come visiting. From the very first page, this suspense thriller book grabs ahold of you and doesn't let go until the final page in the story. Twists and turns, new characters along the way, figuring out who goes with who and being captivated all along the way make this an exceptional fast read that you aren't going to want to put down. This is book one in the Missing In Alaska series by Goddard and it does not disappoint!

Review of Everything is Just Beginning by Erin Bartels

What a journey this book was in reading! The process of showing how one choice can make a ripple effect on others and on the rest of your life. A great read with depth and length throughout and you feel like you're walking right along side the main character as he journeys in his life. Not fast paced, but slowly develops over each page to take you on the journey of story. Bartels does a perfect job blending story with the characters and their surroundings as well as a bit of history mixed in there as well.

Review of Honor's Refuge by Hallee Bridgeman

Honor's Refuge is the 3rd book in the Love and Honor series by Halle Bridgeman. This book follows one of the characters introduced in the first book, but can be read as a stand alone novel. I would highly encourage the reader to read the first two books as they enhance this book even more than reading it by itself. Bridgeman takes a different approach once again of how the story unfolds and creating the plot compared to the first two books which were also different from each other. The reader is captivated by the characters and story line. This is a great book and Bridgeman does a great job hooking the reader in as it's another hard one to put down!

Review of Targeted by Eason, Blackburn and Walters

This novella includes three short stories by Lynette Eason, Lynn Blackburn and Natalie Walters. Each story's main character is a minor character from one of each of the author's previous series. Each author tells a tale that is gripping from the first page and leaves you wishing it was a full length book. Even with it being a shorter story, each was developed well and thoroughly all the way to the end. All three authors' characteristics shown through their writing that makes each of them distinct. What a great series of novellas written by three amazing authors!

Review of Secrets of Emberwild by Stephenia McGee

Secrets of Emberwild is a lovely story about a young woman and the love of her horse, her farm, her family and how she can save all of them with the help of a stranger. This is the first book I have read by McGee and I really enjoyed it. Well written with a captivating story line, McGee takes you through the heartbreak and restoration of a young woman's heart. With a bit of mystery woven in as well as a love story thread through the book, the reader will enjoy a heart warming story all the way to the end.

Review of Word of Honor by Hallee Bridgeman

Word of Honor is book two in the Love and Honor series by Hallee Bridgeman. Bridgeman does a fantastic job capturing the reader in within the first few pages and keeps the reader flipping those pages all the way to the end. I thought this book would follow the same type of story line as the first, book. It had the same suspense and action as the first book, but a very different plot and storyline which made it like a stand alone story. Reading the first book in the series would help some in understanding the main character, but it can definitely be read by itself. A very well rounded, well written story that someone who enjoys suspense and action would like.

Review of Honor Bound by Hallee Bridgeman

This is book one in the Love and Honor series by Hallee Bridgeman and the first book I have read of hers. This is another book that did not disappoint. Such an amazing read, an amazing story line, super intriguing and one I read very late into the night just to be able to finish it. Bridgeman did a fantastic job creating the story line to keep the reader flipping pages to find out what happens. You were able to see in to the hearts of the characters and their struggles so vividly. The attention to detail was very evident and made the book a superb read. I look forward to reading the 2nd book in this series!

Review of Dangerous Beauty by Melissa Koslin

This is the first book I have read by Melissa Koslin and it did not disappoint. Such an intriguing story of how two completely different people battle the demons inside of them. And then what redemption looks like. The whole story line was well written and Koslin did a great job developing the characters yet keeping the readers interest peaked throughout the whole book. You are swept in to the story from the first chapter all the way to the last page.

Review of Deception by Patricia Bradley

Deception is the 4th book in the Natchez Trace Park Rangers Series. Bradley has written a spell-binding book that the reader can't put down! With twists and turns right up to the end, the author easily captures the attention of the reader all the way through. This book can be read as a stand-alone even though it is part of a series. Bradley masterfully weaves another great suspense novel to round out this series. With a touch of romance and a lot of suspense, it's the perfect combination in a book.

Review of Critical Alliance by Elizabeth Goddard

Critical Alliance is the 3rd book in the Rocky Mountain Courage series. This can be read as a stand alone novel even though it is in a series (but I would highly recommend reading the first two because they are just as good!).  Goddard skillfully blends suspense and romance together as well as mystery and intrigue. She takes you on a journey with the characters as they are on a race against time in finding out who Nebulous 2.0 is (read the book to find out who this is!). This is a book you will not want to put down all the way to the end!

Elysium Tide by James R. Hannibal

Elysium Tide is a fast paced read that Hannibal takes you on! With characters who you're cheering for and ones you don't really like, you keep reading to find out what in the world is going to happen. He is a master craftsman when it comes to writing and snags the readers attention right from the beginning. This book was the perfect pace, weaving in mystery, and a touch of humor where the reader just does not want to put it down. Hannibal also mixes the Hawaiian culture in as well which was very interesting to learn about.

Review of Where the Road Bends by Rachel Fordham

Where the Road Bends is a story of the circumstantial meeting of two people who's paths drastically change after they part. Fordham writes a sweet story of redemption, love and learning how to forgive and be forgiven. With characters who you feel could be your friends to the time stamp of the 1880's, this novel takes you back in time where your land was your lively hood and your community was essential.  A tender story where the reader is drawn in on a journey with the characters and you find yourself hoping it all works out for them.
